The glory of God

For the glory of God is a living human being;  and life for a human consists in beholding God. (Gloria enim Dei vivens homo: vita autem hominis visio Dei)

Irenaeus, from Adversus Haereses (Against Heresies), 4. 34. 5-7.

A second universe

Image of God

Invariably we create a God in our own image.
Because we do not love him very much, we are led to think he does not love us much.Because we do not worry much about him, we imagine that he does not worry very much about us.Because we are not very happy with him, we conclude that is not very happy with us.
